When a plan emerges to attack the ruthless Seelie king, Carlin jumps at the chance to gain power. But the assault has devastating consequences, and the king’s vengeance follows them back to the human world.

To earn the right to mentor their twin, Carlin must confront the blood-soaked secrets of their past, along with the betrayal that haunts them most. however, Carlin’s chance of redemption slips further away with each passing day.

If you like terrifying fae, LGBTQ storylines, and the reimagining of Celtic legends, then join Carlin on their quest to meet the girl of their dreams.

Amazon Reviews

Carlin is desperate to keep living and surviving day to day in the garden.
So much so she will even die for it.
There is talk of a hero, rumours abound and they take heed of their dreams of a pure soul who is magically connected.
But a plot is being hatched to stage an attack on the king.
But it’s a disaster and even though Carlin returns to her own world the king still seeks vengeance.
Carlin must overcome her aversion and make peace with their violent past before being able to be a true mentor to her twin.
But as she doesn’t know where she is this is becoming a remote hope no matter how hard she tries.
This was a really good read, I enjoyed this.
Of course Bernard the cat was my favourite character.
Often heard of books about the Seelie, the fae etc and only read one before this was a great story but as I received a complimentary ARC copy I feel I’m missing elements of the story so need to back track and catch up on the full plot as it would be a shame not to.
Definitely worth a read if this is your kind of genre.
